i have to agree with your blech, but i still can't agree with keeping someone from pursuing graduate work based on their religion, especially if we're talking about a public, secular institution. i already catch enough flak as it is for being vaguely atheistic, but i would be truly angry if this kept me from going back to school.
that said, i do wish there had been some way for the university to NOT accept a creationist for such a degree. on the other hand, if this turns out to be a successful experiment in giving someone enough rope to hang themselves with, or if the guy eventually turns away from creationism, then i suppose it will be ok.
